For as long as I can remember I have been enamored of metal objects and the craftsmanship involved in producing it. In high school, I wanted to become a goldsmith but tossed that idea aside for my other love: French literature.
These distant memories came back many years later in California when I started to learn the art of metal smithing and jewelry making.

I love creating something with my hands and
being able to give my ideas a definite physical shape in precious metal.
I find it fascinating how the metal bends and moves with only a few hammer strikes and to witness it take new form.
My inspiration comes primarily from nature. A leaf or flower that I find on a walk
or in my yard can be the catalyst for a new piece. I am especially fond of sea creatures: little shells, sand dollars or starfish I pick up on the beach
not far from my studio. I find their amazing shapes and intricate textures very stimulating.
